OUR STORY
The Board of Saint Francis (BOSF) was originally known as the Women's Auxiliary of Saint Francis Country House in Upper Darby, PA. Formed in 1913, the Women's Auxiliary worked to benefit the St. Francis Country House's seniors. Saint Francis House was operated by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia; however, it was sold by the Archdiocese in 2014. The organization dispersed its remaining funds to three different area charities—St. Ignatius Nursing Home, Holy Family Home, and Catholic Human Health Services.
In 2015, members from Women's Auxiliary regrouped and decided to resurrect
the charity as the Board of Saint Francis. The BOSF's mission remained constant with its vision to continue enhancing the social, financial, and spiritual lives of a worthy
Catholic community located in the Philadelphia area.
Currently, the BOSF works to benefit the elderly through the Little Sisters of the Poor Holy Family Home that is located at 5300 Chester Avenue in Philadelphia, PA.
